Women* Write the Balkans is a space for narratives from and about the Balkans by authors who identify as women, trans and/or non-binary people. The platform is committed to exploring the multilayered realities of the region, and showcases writing that weaves together experience and expertise, scholarship and storytelling.

The platform features both short- and long-form pieces, from fragments and archival leftovers, to micro-memoirs and personal and visual essays. We invite our authors to test the boundaries of writing about the region, and look forward to compelling narratives from experienced writers, first-time authors, and anyone in between.
